My dad is a Sergeant, a fuel driver, and is going to college to get a degree in nursing. He wants this degree because he wants to help other military people that come back injured. I look up to my dad, because he is one of the strongest people i know. I know that i can always count on him to be here for me for anything I need. He has managed to given me and my family a wonderful life . I thank the Lord for keeping my father safe at war. My dad is my Hero and i couldn't be more blessed to have him as a Father .

My Hero
We all know stories about people in our lives that we look up to even sometimes ourselves. In my family we don't really have a story to tell about a hero or someone we look up to, but in my eyes my hero has to be my Dad. He is the one person I can look up to and admire. When he was growing up he didn't have much , he lived in a house with four brothers and one sister. Growing up he had to work in the hot summer fields, working for his money. When he graduated from Friona Highschool he enlisted to the Marines. In 2003, he got deployed to Iraq. My dad could hardly contact us maybe if we were lucky we would get one phone call a month. I was about four years old, I didn't really notice what was happening then. My dad came home about a year later, safe and sound. My dad transfered from the Marines to the National Guard. In 2007, my dad's mother got diagnosed with cancer, she died a couple of months later. That same year my dad got deployed to Iraq again, I was about nine years old. Going home didn't feel right , I needed my dad but I knew he was out their risking his life for our Freedom. The Deployment felt like years, I was ready to see my dad. My dad would call us more recently, because the technology had advanced so much. About a year and a half later he finally came home. Words cant possibly explain the happiness i felt when i saw my dad, I had missed him so much i didn't realize it until he was actually here in person.
